Breezy & not as warm today -- Elevated Fire Danger, No burning

Breezy & not as warm today -- Elevated Fire Danger, No burning ---

We're starting out WARM at the bus stop! Temperatures are in the middle and upper 60's, some starting at/near 70 degrees! The warm temperatures slip away today as another strong cold front comes through.

The cold front sits to our west this morning, packing gusty NW winds behind it. We've got a lot of dry air in place this morning, and the air behind the front will be even drier. As a result, we are not expecting rain with this front. A few clouds will filter through this afternoon instead, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies for much of the area.

Behind the front, NW winds will become breezy. Winds will be sustained 20-30 mph with gusts 35-40 mph. You'll want to tie down any loose yard objects! Relative humidity will also drop to about 35-40% this afternoon, combined with the breezy wind, we'll have an elevated fire danger. Please avoid outdoor burning!

Highs today mostly already occurred at midnight. Temperatures this morning will continue to fall off this afternoon into the upper 50's, we might make it back up to 60 degrees. But with cool air on it's way in, we won't be nearly as warm as we were yesterday. Generally, expect a mix of upper 50's and lower 60's by the end of the day.

Tonight, cool air continues to filter into the Ozarks and skies cleared out. As a result, temperatures will nose-dive towards the freezing mark again. Lows in the lower to middle 30's expected with areas of frost. Take in/ cover and cold-sensitive/ blooming plants!

Tomorrow we'll have high pressure in place giving way to mostly sunny skies, but highs stay on the cool side only make it to the middle and upper 50's.

We'll increase clouds and temperatures on a breezy south wind Friday ahead of our next system. Highs return to the lowe 60's under partly to mostly cloudy skies.

Our weekend storm system still looks delayed with rain holding off until late evening/ overnight Saturday. We'll stay mostly cloudy and dry most all day with highs around 60 degrees.

Showers arrive overnight and linger through Sunday. Highs stay cool with cloud cover.

Early next week looks quiet, partly cloudy and 60's.
