Hot & humid today, spotty storm chances through next week

Hot & humid today, spotty storm chances through next week ---

Heat and humidity continue to nudge stronger today as a hot, high-pressure nudges in from the southwest.

Expect mostly sunny skies today with a high of 91 feeling as hot as 95 degrees with the humidity. Storm complex will fire well west and north, if anyone sees a pop-up storm today it would be for those on the extreme northern and western fringes of the area.

Partly cloudy, warm, and muggy tonight with a low around 70 degrees.

Tomorrow will continue to be hot and humid. High of 91 will feel closer to 95 degrees. A few storms are possible tomorrow as we start to get into a bit of an unsettled pattern.

As our high sits just to the southwest, it will drape a pathway of storminess just to our north. The main show of storm complexes will be areas like in Iowa and Illinois, but we could tap into a few spotty storms from those leftovers, especially as the ridge, or the outskirts of that path, breaks down by the beginning of next week.

For us, this means isolated storms cannot be ruled out Friday through Wednesday of next week. No day will be a washout, widespread rain/ storms are not expected. But you'll want to be weather aware for spotty storms especially if you're camping or fishing!

Highs stay hot throughout, hovering 90 degrees through Monday. As the hot pattern breaks down, highs will come down to the upper 80's Tuesday and Wednesday.
