Hot & humid today, small storm chance east of HWY65

Hot & humid today, small storm chance east of HWY65 ---

Heat and humidity continue to crank today. Our front still sits over the Ozarks this morning, so as heat and humidity bubble this afternoon a few storms will be possible. However, the front will start to nudge to the north and east of Springfield as high-pressure noses in from the south. Therefore I expect Springfield and points west to stay mainly dry. The healthiest chance for a few storms will be east of HWY 65. Any storms that do bubble will collapse by sunset.

Highs will pop back into the lower 90's today, 94 will feel like 100 degrees.

Mostly quiet, warm, and muggy tonight with a low of 73.

A summertime high pressure starts to build into the Ozarks tomorrow. That will turn off rain chances and crank up the heat and humidity. Expect mostly sunny skies and hot highs in the low to middle 90's. With the humidity, 95 will feel like 102 degrees in Springfield. Stay cool and hydrated!!

Sunshine, heat, and humidity continue to crank all weekend with highs in the 90's both Saturday and Sunday. Take Dad somewhere cool for Father's Day! Drink lots of water at the lake or pool! Sunday will feature a high of 93 degrees feeling like 100 degrees.

By Monday the hot, dry ridge of high pressure starts to break down, so we'll start to get a little relief from the heat with a return of storm chances.

A few storms possible Monday with highs in the upper 80's. "Cooler" but still above normal middle 80's Tuesday and Wednesday with more widespread coverage of storms.
