High cloudiness today continues to help temper the heat with afternoon highs in the low to mid 80s. Humidity levels remain low too. The heat and humidity will gradually build this week with rain chances returning by the weekend.
For tonight, we'll find the high overcast gradually thinning out. The dry air and clear skies will allow temperatures to fall to comfortably cool levels by sunrise with morning lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
Tuesday will be a lot brighter with mainly sunny conditions throughout the day. Humidity levels will remain low, but temperatures will begin heading higher with highs in the upper 80s.
Wednesday and Thursday look even hotter with highs around 90° both days. Humidity levels will start to ramp up Friday with hot and humid conditions hanging around through the weekend. Rain chances hold off until late in the week when moisture levels get a little higher.
The first shot at storms appears to come on Thursday. This will mainly be for areas near Central Missouri where some isolated activity looks possible. Leftover storms complexes and afternoon heat and humidity will continue to provide a shot at a few showers and thunderstorms Friday and Saturday. Rain chances will perk up a bit more Sunday into Monday as a front tries to edge southwest into the Ozarks.
