Springfield health leaders provide update on mass vaccination clinic, COVID-19 cases

COVID Vaccine Updates

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Springfield-Greene County Health Department and other area health leaders will be providing an update on COVID-19 cases, the mass vaccination clinic, and COVID-19 booster shots.

Katie Towns with the Health Department says over 205 people have come to get vaccinated between Monday and Tuesday. She did not have the numbers for Wednesday since the clinic is ongoing. Towns says most of the 205 were people getting vaccine boosters.

Towns also clarified that the only vaccine available for a booster is Pfizer. The Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccine are not eligible to receive a booster dose at this time.

FDA officials will be meeting Thursday and Friday to review Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccine boosters.

The mass vaccination site is located at 1425 East Battlefield Road, and will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
