Springfield Man Changes Plea to Guilty in Shooting Death of 19-Year-Old

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Chase Dylan Adams, 21, changed his plea from not guilty to guilty on Wednesday in the shooting death of a 19-year-old.

Adams is charged with second degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 19-year-old Zechariah Miles. 

Miles was shot inside a house around 2 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2017. According to the probable cause statement, two witnesses told police that Adams had messaged them, individually, about the shooting. According to the statement, Adams told police he knew Miles and was upset over a handgun transaction. 

According to online court records, Adams’ sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 8 at 10:30 a.m.
