Pat Conroy Staying Chaplain in House of Representatives

WASHINGTON D.C. — Pat Conroy is staying on as Chaplain in the House of Representatives.

Lawmakers approved his post in a voice vote Thursday.

Conroy resigned from the position last April after filling it for seven years.

He claimed then-Speaker Paul Ryan pressured him to leave because Conroy is Catholic.

Conroy decided to rescind his resignation shortly after and was reinstated by Ryan.
