Vigil to be held for Springfield Police officer Mark Priebe on June 10 in Republic

REPUBLIC, Mo.– A spokesperson for the City of Republic says Mark Priebe, who was pinned to an outdoor bollard outside the Springfield Police Department on Tuesday, will be honored with a vigil at JR Martin Park on Wednesday night, June 10.

The City of Republic is hosting the event, but SPD is expected to be a major organizer of the event.

The vigil started at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.

Here is the schedule of who is planned to speak at the vigil:

  • 7:00 – Dalton Avery will do the opening prayer and explain the reasoning for the vigil.
  • 7:05 – Chief Paul Williams of the Springfield Police Department
  • 7:10 – Charlie Johnson, a friend of Mark and associate pastor of Life360 in Republic
  • 7:15 – Brandon Gardner, Springfield Police Department chaplain
  • 7:17 – Holly George-Thomas, sister-in-law of Mark
  • 7:20 – Pastor Josh Matthews of Meadowview Baptist Republic
  • 7:25 – Republic Police Department representative
  • 7:30 – Pastor Travis Edwards of North Nixa Baptist Church and public school board member
  • 7:35 – Pastor Lee Young of 1st Christian Church Republic
  • 7:40 – Pastor Josh Troester of Live Church in Republic
  • 7:45 – Pastor Dalton Avery of Life360 Republic
  • 7:50 – Closing with music
