Springfield Police Department relaxing on its tattoo policies

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Springfield Police Department is relaxing its policy on tattoos during the hiring process for new officers. ‘

According to the Springfield Newsleader, the department has had trouble hiring new officers.

To increase their pool of possible candidates the department is allowing officers to have visible tattoos except for the neck and face.

The department is down 33 officers from what the department is allowed to carry and several officers are reaching retirement age.
