SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — One person is dead after a shooting in north Springfield early Sunday morning.
The Springfield Police Department responded to a business in the 300 block of Kansas Expressway around 3:30 a.m.
Officers found two males with gunshot wounds when they arrived.
Larry McCoo, 35, was transported to a local hospital where he later died. The other victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.
Investigators have not released any additional information about a suspect or motive, but know that multiple people were present during the incident.

This is Springfield’s 12th homicide investigation in 2023.
A separate shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday on North Glenn Avenue.
SPD said there was evidence of shots fired, but no one was injured.
This is the second shooting to happen in the same block of Glenn Avenue in just over a month. Kayden Morton, 23, was shot and killed on June 25.
Neighbors told OzarksFirst they’re concerned that these two shootings happened so close together.
