Court documents accuse Duval of stabbing someone at the Purple Burrito Restaurant on South Cambell Avenue on April 26.

A woman said she was in a car in the restaurant parking lot arguing with the stabbing victim, who she said struck her face with his hand. She said she called Duval so that he could hear what was happening.

Eventually, Duval showed up and confronted the future stabbing victim. The man refused to leave the driver’s seat of the woman’s car. As a result, Duval ran around the car, opened the passenger door, reached across the woman and allegedly began to stab and slash at the victim with a knife.

Duval pulled the victim out, who then fled on foot with a “substantial injury” to his right hand. Duval then left the location.

On May 3, Springfield officers received information regarding Duval’s whereabouts and attempted to arrest him at a Kum & Go. Duval allegedly rammed a patrol car and officer as he fled the scene, driving into oncoming traffic. Officers gave chase for a short period of time before being called off the pursuit due to danger to the public.

Greene County deputies later saw the vehicle and started another brief pursuit. Duval allegedly attempted to ram a patrol vehicle and eventually deputies lost him.

On May 4, Ash Grove police arrested Duval when the vehicle he was a passenger in was pulled over. He tried to escape but was caught. He was found to possess “large amounts of narcotics,” according to the court documents.

Duval is scheduled to appear in court for a counsel status hearing at 8:30 a.m. on May 19.
