No state income tax on stimulus check

MISSOURI — Remember that $1,200 check you received a few months ago? Well, you won’t have to pay nearly as much taxes on it come next tax season.

Missouri Governor Mike Parson signed a bill exempting the checks received as part of the federal CARES Act from state income taxes.

Senate Bill 676 also protects homeowners from runaway property tax assessments.
