Greene County Sheriff’s Office warns residents of Social Security scam

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.- The Greene County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam circling the county.

Residents have been receiving calls about their social security number expiring and the sheriff’s office is reminding people that social security numbers do not expire.

The sheriff’s office is urging you to not give out any of your personal information if you don’t know who you are speaking to.

You are asked to report any suspected scams to law enforcement.
