SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Missouri State football coach Dave Steckel completed his recruiting class of 2018 with Wednesday’s signing day.
KOLR 10’s Dan Molloy has our Bear Nation recruiting report.
This is year four for Dave Steckel, and today announces his fourth recruiting class at Missouri State. That means just about the entire roster is made up of Stec’s guys.
This 2018 class features eight junior college transfers and 19 high school seniors, 14 of the 27 signed Wednesday.
Stec hopes this group will complete the overhaul and help prove this program is headed in the right direction.
“It’s going to be exciting. We’re going to develop our guys,” Steckel said. “We, starting with me and our coaches – Coach (Adam) Lang does an outstanding job in the strength room – our job is to develop our players. That’s we have to do to take the next step to where we want to go.”
Most of Stec’s freshmen have taken redshirts their first years on campus. This class should be no different.
But seven of the eight juco transfers are linemen, and they could see some playing time next fall.
Spring practice opens March 21 and finishes with the Maroon & White Game on Thursday night April 19.
