SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals and Northwest Arkansas Naturals were supposed to play baseball Wednesday afternoon.
But the rain washed away the game.
Springfield third baseman Ramon Urias would not have played anyway.
Cardinals skipper Johnny Rodriguez had him out of the lineup following this incident last night in the sixth inning against the Naturals.
Urias was hit in the back of his batting helmet, he fell to the ground and lay motionless for just a few seconds.
The third baseman stayed in the game, and ended up scoring a run in that inning.
But he started showing concussion symptons and the team put him on the seven day disabled list Wednesday afternoon.
Urias spent five years in the Mexican League before the Cardinals signed him in January.
He was demoted from Triple AAA Memphis to Springfield last week.
