PEORIA, Ill–The Valley softball tournament continued Thursday in Peoria, Missouri State facing Indiana State.

Bottom of the first, Bears strike first.

Two on for Kelly Metter and she lays down the bunt.

But a Sycamore throwing error scores Payton Minnis and Kyana Mason, it’s 2-0 Bears.

The Sycamores bats exploded in the third.

Game tied 3-3, Brooke Mann doubles to left center, that drives in two of Indiana State’s five runs in the inning for a 5-3 lead.

Now up 10-4 in the seventh, Bears down to their final strike with bases loaded.

And Metter strikes again, this time a grand slam over the left field wall.

Bears within two, but that’s it as the 30-win Bears fall 10-8 to end the season.
