Search for next Lady Bears coach is underway

Sports

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Missouri State Athletics Director Kyle Moats must now find a new Lady Bears coach.

And he already started the process before Kellie Harper actually took the Lady Vols job.

Moats created a five person advisory committee that includes former player Carley Stubblefield and Senior Associate Athletics Director Casey Hunt.

They’ll put together a list of finalist and Moats and Missouri State president Clif Smart will then review the list.

Kellie Harper was at Missouri State for six years and Moats had this to say about that time.

“I am thankful to Kellie for restoring the pride back to Lady Bears basketball.
She not only was successful on the court, but recruited high quality players and high character student-athletes.  She displayed class in everything she did,” said Moats.

Now the lady bears and the fans look forward, who will be the next coach?

Here are just a few of names:

Jackie Stiles, Lady Bear legend and current assistant coach.

Molly Miller, the Drury coach and current D2 national coach of the year.

Jennifer Sullivan is an assistant with Ohio State, was on Kellie Harper’s staff for five years before that.

Charity Elliott is a former Lady Bear player who’s the head coach at Loyola Marymount and has 15 years of head coaching experience.
