BOLIVAR, Mo--The Southwest Baptist Bearcats are officially leaving the MIAA moving fully into the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
That move was announced Thursday but the transition will not be until August of 20-19.
SBU has been a part of the MIAA since 1986.
The football program moved out of the conference a few years ago and joined the GLVC to help with competitive balance.
Thursday's move means that SBU and teams like Drury and Missouri S&T will compete as conference rivals in all sports.
The Drury and SBU basketball programs have traditionally played every year in the Highway 13 cat fight.
