SPRINGFIELD, Mo–In a little more than two weeks the Missouri State Bears will kick off the 2017 football season at Mizzou.

Newspaper reports out of Houston say that Rice quarterback J.T. Granato is transfering to Missouri State in order to compete for the starting quarterback job.
Missouri State does not have an official comment on the report as of yet.
Granato stands 6-foot-4 and will be a redshirt sophomore.
He lost the preseason battle to be the Owls starting quarterback and elected to transfer immediately.
According to the Houston Chronicle, Stec called Granato and offered him an opportunity in Springfield.
Currently Peyton Huslig is the quarterback on the Bears first unit, he’s a sophomore who transfered to Missouri State after one juco season.
