ST. JOSEPH, Mo–The Kansas City Chiefs were on the training camp fields in St. Joe Sunday morning.
The Chiefs will open the preseason with a Thursday night home game against the Texans.
KOLR 10’s Matt Vereen is in St. Joe with the Chiefs and has more on the workout.
While today wasn’t the first day of camp, it was the first day preparing for a game this week.
The Chiefs are set to host the Texans this coming Thursday at Arrowhead Stadium.
At camp Sunday, however, a lot of attention was on a player who probably won’t play in the game against Houston.
That’s because Sunday marked the return of linebacker Reggie Ragland to the practice field.
Ragland is entering his second year here in K.C. but has missed practice to this point with a knee injury.
Head Coach Andy Reid says he’s happy to have him back to help fill the hole left by Derrick Johnson.
“Yeah, Reggie did a nice job for what we asked him to do. He really was a partial practice guy, but it was good work getting back into the swing of things. He’s got a pretty good feel of what we’re doing. It didn’t look like he was lost too much there. He was pretty much up on it. With all the calls and things he’s responsible for, it’s good to have him out there doing that,” said Chiefs coach Andy Reid.
Now camp continues Monday.
Make sure to tune into KC Blitz ahead of Thursday’s game.
