Parkview Eagles Soar Over Joplin


SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri state high school basketball playoffs continued Wednesday night.

In class five, the 17-10 Parkview Vikings squared off with the 18-9 Joplin Eagles.

Parkview upset both Ozark and Glendale to win its district championship.

And had their eyes set on Joplin.

But the Eagles would jump out in front early,  Braeden Testerman with the three from the far corner, it’s 3-2 Joplin.

Parkview Ty Freeman with the long two it’s a two point deficit.

Joplin’s Zach Wesmoreland spins into the paint and off the window, Eagles up by four.

But Parkview rallies, Daru Elliott with the three pointer and it’s a one point game.

Then the Vikings with some defense, Damarcus Mason pokes the ball loose then sets up Freeman for the ally oop dunk, Parkview ties it up at 17.  

And Parkview beats Joplin 63-55.           

In other Class 5 boys action, Willard loses to Rock Bridge 66-45.

It’s Parkview and Rock Bridge in Saturday’s quarterfinals.
