SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State High School Activities Association Show-Me Showdown returned to Springfield for the first time in 27 years.

State basketball championships in all five classes will be decided at JQH Arena with a few games Friday at the adjacent Hammons Student Center. 

The Class 2 girls semifinal between Skyline and Neelyville tipped off the action.

Skyline is 29-2.

We pick up the action in the third quarter, Neelyville Mackenzie Hobbs with the three, it’s 29-17 Neelyville Lady Tigers.

Skyline would fight back in it, Autumn Garrett with the three, cuts the lead to eight.

Neelyville answers, Jentri Worley with the step back three, and Neelyville’s lead was 37-26.

The Skyline Lady Tigers didn’t quit, the inbound pass, first shot off the mark, but Valen Logan gets the board and basket, it’s a seven point deficit.

Then Kaylee Damitz with the floater, it’s still a seven point game.

Later Damitz, the senior takes it coast to coast for the hoop, it’s a three point deficit.

But Neelyville holds on, the court length pass to J’Kayla Fowler and the Lady Tigers from the bootheel win 63-57.
