Naturals snap Springfield’s winning streak

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals continued their series with Northwest Arkansas Friday night.

Springfield was looking for its fifth straight victory.

That would match the longest winning streak of the season.

And Northwest Arkansas would threaten in the second inning, a man on and Travis Jones takes this deep to left, into the bullpen and gone, a two run shot, and it’s 2-nothing Naturals.

But Springfield pitcher Harold Arauz would get out of trouble when he strikes out Angelo Castellano swining, remains 2-nothing.

The Naturals would add to that lead in the fifth, a man on third and Kort Peterson takes this deep to right, deep enough to score Melbrys Viloria on the sac fly, it’s 3-nothing.

Blake Perkins follows with this single to right, that scores Travis Jones, and it’s 4-nothing Naturals.

And Northwest Arkansas goes onto win 4-1.
