MSU Mauls Evangel in Exhibition Game

Missouri State held Evangel under 12 percent shooting in a dominant preseason effort Tuesday, a 77-28 win at JQH Arena.

In Dana Ford’s first game on the Bears bench, he used 10 players, most for 15 minutes or more. Szymon Wojcik, one of two freshman twins from Poland, wowed the home crowd in the first half, running the floor in transition, throwing down multiple dunks and connecting on two 3-pointers. He led all scorers with 16 points.

Senior Jarred Dixon scored 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting, grabbing eight rebounds and assisting on four other baskets. Off the bench, 6-11 redshirt freshman Darian Scott added 14 points and 6 rebounds.

Missouri State will tip off the 2018-19 regular season next Tuesday at home against Oral Roberts. Evangel will begin Friday night at Columbia College in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic
