According to TVA Sports in Canada, the National Football League has denied Laurent Duvernay-Tardif's request to have MD put after his name on the back of his jersey.

Duvernay-Tardif graduated from med school last month and becomes the first NFL player to have earned a medical degree since the mid 50's.

And he wanted to put MD after his name on the back of the red and gold jersey.
Duvernay-tardif is hoping a swell of public opinion will change the league's mind.
