Morning Sports Report - Thursday, June 21, 2018

TULSA, Ok--    The Springfield Cardinals wrapped up their short four game road trip to Tulsa Wednesday afternoon.

The Cards were hoping to win and split the series.

And Tulsa had a 5-1 lead in the sixth inning when Springfield's Granden Goetzman singles to right, that puts Cardinals at first and second.

Two batters later Victor Roache lines this to right, but Tulsa's Zach Reks makes the diving catch on the warning track to end the inning.

And the Drillers would seal the deal in the bottom half when Drew Jackson takes this over the boards in left center, a two run shot and Tulsa wins 7-one.

Springfield returns home Thursday night to open a four game series with Arkansas leading up to the All-Star break.

In MLB action, in Philadelphia, Yadier Molina hit a pair of home runs but it wasn't enough as the Phillies win 4-3.

In Kansas City last night, the Royals lost to texas 3-2.  It was the Royals' ninth straight loss -  they were 0-for-8 on their homestand.

In the College World Series, Arkansas beats Texas Tech,  7-4.
The Razorbacks are 2-and-0 in Omaha and play next on Friday.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo--In our Bear Nation report, Missouri State basketball coach Dana Ford made a couple of roster announcements Wednesday.
