SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The 28th annual Price Cutter Charity Championship will tee off later this week.  But golf week is here.

The tour event tees off round one on Thursday.

But there was some anxiety filled rounds of golf being played at Millwood which is just a few miles south of here.

And at Rivercut – it’s open qualifying.

That means any golfer with a low enough handicap can pay a fee and try to qualify for one of a handful of spots into the event.

“It’s as much pressure as you give yourself.  It’s six guys out of 110 or whatever.  You have to play well, you can’t make mistakes,” said Jacob Lestishen.

“I feel like I hit the ball well.  Again I wish some more putts would have dropped.  Eagle putt on two, I left it about two inches short.  Always tough to miss those, but tap in birdies never hurt you,” said Austin Martinson.

“I didn’t play too bad.  Wish I could have started a little better.  I could have made it a little better.  But I enjoyed it though.  It was a lot of fun,” said Griffen Locke.
