Maness Remembers Springfield Champion Season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Springfield Cardinals will continue their series with the Arkansas Travelers Thursday night.

St. Louis relief pitcher Seth Maness is with Springfield on a medical rehab.

But he won’t pitch Thursday.

Maness worked a perfect seventh inning last night, throwing nine pitches, five for strikes and getting his three outs.

He’s schedule to pitch again Friday night and Sunday.

Maness was part of the Cardinals 2012 Texas League championship team and remembers Springfield foundly.

“Right when I walked in, I stopped and looked at the 2012 picture of everybody.  And I was admiring the talent we had on that team.  What a fun ride that was.  We had a lot of chemistry there.  And seeing guys succeed from the lower levels all the way up to the big leagues was special,” said Seth Maness.
