Gabriel Lino tied a career high with four runs batted in and All-Star pitcher Matt Pearce earned his seventh win in Friday’s 6-4 Springfield win over Arkansas.
Lino, the catcher batting last in the lineup, drove in runs with a sacrifice fly and two doubles. His four RBI are his most in a game since knocking in four in April 2012 with the Single-A Delmarva Shorebirds.
Pearce (W, 6-5) overcame a first-inning Travelers run to win his second straight start. The right-hander pulls into a tie for the Texas League lead with win no. 7.
Springfield (37-37) has two games left on its season-long homestand before the All-Star break. Saturday’s tilt with the Travelers will begin at 6:10 pm at Hammons Field.
