SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Missouri State went 1-for-3 in basketball games this past weekend at JQH Arena.

The Lady Bears beat Northern Iowa Friday, but the Drake men and women beat Missouri State both Saturday and Sunday.

For the Lady Bears, the 70-61 loss knocks them out of a first place tie with Drake into second place in the Valley.

But there are still two more games left in the season.

Kellie Harper’s Lady Bears play at Evansville Thursday, and at Indiana State next Saturday.

And would love another crack at Drake at the tournament.

Kellie Harper/Lady Bears Coach:”I’m trying right now to keep them focused on practice and the next two games.  But I’m sure that will be part of their talk.  I’m sure that will be some motivation for them.  But we have a lot that has to happen before we have that opportunity,” said Harper.

So this is what the Valley womens race looks like going into the last week of the season.

Drake has a one game lead on the Lady Bears.

Northern Iowa is in third place at 11-5.

Bradley and Illinois State are tied for fourth place at 10-6.
