SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Missouri State Lady Bears are also in the NCAA tournament.

In our Bear Nation report, it’s Missouri State’s 15th trip to the NCAA’s.

Kellie Harper’s Lady Bears broke open a tight game with a big second quarter, and then whipped up on Drake 94-79 to win the Valley post season championship.

Monday, the NCAA put Missouri State in the Chicago region where they’ll play the Blue Demons.

The other game in the bracket is the host school Iowa State and New Mexico State.

The Lady Bears say they’re ready to attack the Chicago regional.

“Very aggressive, shooters. And I think coming from a power five Big East conference.  Just accepting the challenge.  And like in the non-conference being ready.  Almost being there, we just have to be good enough at this moment,” said Lady Bears guard Brice Calip.

“We’re definitely not done playing basketball.  We want to win as many games as possible, survive and advance.  I think this will be a good opportunity for us,” said Lady Bear senior Danielle Gitzen.

The Lady Bears are the 11th seed and will play the sixth seed DePaul.

That game tips off at 2:30 Saturday from Hilton Coliseum in Ames.

The second round games are Monday, March 25th.
