SPRINGFIELD, Mo– The Missouri State girls soccer playoffs are underway as well around the Show-Me State. At Kickapoo Tuesday night, the 15-win Lady Chiefs faced a challenge from 16-victory Rock Bridge.
And this one was scoreless in the first half, Kickapoo with a chance, Lily Simphaly-Ragsdale with the penalty kick, but it’s stopped by the Bruins Abby Green.
We go into the second half, Rock Bridge’s Caroline Cole splits the defense, then her crossing pass goes to Payton McCallister, she scores it’s 1-0 Bruins.
Minutes later Kickapoo ties it back up, Corinne Edelen with the penalty kick, and Ellie Miller boots it in, it’s 1-1.
Later in the second half, a little contact in the Kickapoo penalty box, the ref awards a penalty kick. And it’s Rock Bridge’s McCallister who shoots and scores, and the Bruins advance to the quarterfinals with a 2-1 win.
In other class four soccer, Nixa gets shutout from Lee’s Summit West.
In class three, Union beats Glendale 3-0.
And Bolivar beats Webb city 1-0.
