It’s A Three-Peat For Strafford Girls


SPRINGFIELD, Mo–It was championship Saturday at JQH Arena  for the Missouri state high school basketball tournament.

The smaller Class 1, 2 and 3 schools crowning champions. 

In Class 3 girls, Strafford has won the last two state championships.

And coach Steve Frank’s Lady Indians were looking for a three peat against California.

Strafford’s also won 81 straight games.

And coach was looking for his 500th career win. 

His daughter Hayley Frank hits the 12 footer and it’s 5-0.

Strafford with a first quarter run sparked by Frank’s jumper here it’s 19-12.

Then the junior who’s going to Mizzou steals the ball, and the behind the back pass to Mica Chadwell it’s 26-12 Lady Indians.

Hayley Frank had 20 at the half, finished with 22, she dishes to her sister Kayley for the three, and Strafford wins its third straight state championship 77-36.    

“It’s very special.  It’s a very special group of kids right here.  There’s a reason everyone is standing up here on this stage because it goes from the bottom all the way to the top,” said Steve Frank.

“It’s always our dream.  And I think right now we’ve almost exceeded our dream.  But we’re still not satisfied when I say that though.  It’s so special to do this with my family.  And these girls too are my family also,” said Hayley Frank.
