The Glendale girls soccer team captured its third consecutive Class 3 district championship with a 5-1 win Thursday over Willard at JFK Stadium.
The Falcons took a 3-0 lead into the second half before Jackie Pence lofted a shot from 35 yards just over the Glendale keeper into the top corner for Willard’s first goal.
But Glendale’s attack pushed them into the round of 16. Chloe Hamm and Paige Margreiter scored second-half goals to secure the Falcons’ sectional berth.
Glendale (16-7-1) will take on Carl Junction (13-10) Tuesday in sectional play.
