Evangel Crusaders Fall to Benedictine in Home Opener

OZARK, Mo — The Chuck Hepola era kicked off tonight in Ozark, as Evangel played host to #15 Benedictine College for their season opener. 

Points were few and far between in the 1st half. Blake Woodard hits Strafford grad, Brady Collier for the 1st down.

But it was all about the defense in this one. Justin Day forces the fumble for the Crusaders, but the Ravens would recover.

Later, it’s Malachi Cobb keeping the Ravens down in their own territory with the great tackle. Benedictine led 7-0 as the headed into the lockerroom.

In the 2nd half, the Ravens would break through, scoring 28 more points.

Evangel would fall 35-3.
