Drury Soccer Wins on Senior Day

Three Drury senior players scored in their Senior Day game as the Panthers defeated McKendree 3-2 on Sunday at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
 
Drury improved to 7-5-1 and 6-4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. McKendree dropped to 2-11 and 0-11 in the league.
 
Drury senior Ben Bruce scored his seventh goal of the season to put the Panthers in the lead in the 15th minute. Five minutes later, Charles Guelly scored to give Drury a 2-0 lead. The goal was the third of the season for the senior from Paris, France.
 
The Panthers took a 3-0 lead as senior Pierre Villez, who also had an assist in the game, scored in the 51st minute.
 
McKendree pulled within a goal of the lead, scoring twice late in the game against Drury reserves. Javier Soto kicked home a shot in the 84th minute and Callum Kiddle scored for the Bearcats on a scramble in the front of the net less than three minutes later.
 
Drury outshot McKendree 17-9 in the game and had five shots on goal to the Bearcats two.
 
The Panthers are on the road for their next game, as they travel to Southern Indiana on Friday. Drury takes on the Screaming Eagles for a 7:30 pm game in Evansville, Ind.
