SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury Baseball kept its season alive Friday thanks to an offensive explosion ending in a 16-4 victory over Lewis.
The fifth seeded Panthers looked poised for a hard fought battle with the eight seed Flyers after Drury was caught stealing 2nd for the final out of their fourth inning frame.
A review, however, restored the runner and the Panthers rattled off four runs in the inning to secure the lead for good at 6-1.
They wouldn’t stop there, however, as Drury went on to score 14 or more runs for the fifth time this year to stay alive in the GLVC tournament.
Those runs came thanks to a season-high 24 hits from 12 different Panthers on the day.
The Panthers will play Saturday at 12:30 against the loser of Friday night’s Illinois Springfield/Quincy matchup.
Though, with rain in the forecast times and locations for Saturday’s games are subject to change.
More information on tomorrow’s schedule is expected Friday night.
