The Chiefs wrapped up the preseason with a 33-21 win over Green Bay Thursday in a game featuring backups and players hoping to make Saturday’s final roster cuts.

The Kansas City defense stepped up early, as Armani Watts intercepted Packers backup quarterback DeShone Kizer. The fourth-round rookie had two picks in the exhibition finale.

Green Bay held a 21-10 lead in the second quarter when the Chiefs began to rally. Matt McGloin connected with Damien Williams for a 7-yard touchdown pass to cut the deficit to four.

After three Harrison Butker field goals put KC up 26-21, Makinton Dorleant provided the exclamation point on the preseason, intercepting Tim Boyle and returning it 30 yards for a touchdown.

Kansas City finishes the preseason 2-2. The Chiefs will open the 2018 regular season Sunday, Sept. 9 in Los Angeles against the Chargers.
