SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The Texas League All-Star game is 11 days away in Tulsa.
And Friday the league named two Springfield Cardinals to the North squad.
Leading the way is the youngest Texas League All-Star, Dylan Carlson.
The 20-year old Carlson is hitting 291 with nine homers and 47 RBI.
This is the first time that he’s been named to any All-Star team as a professional.
Carlson is the number two prospect in the Cardinals system.
Also going to the All-Star game is left handed pitcher Austin Warner.
The 24-year old Warner is 3-5 with a 3.88 ERA.
Austin Warner/Texas League All-Star:”It’s always one of the goals that I set for myself at the beginning of the year. Kind of a mid-season goal and it’s nice to accomplish that. You’re kind of friends with the guys you’re used to playing against for a little bit. It’s nice to meet new people. It’s always a good experience,” said Warner.
“I feel like I’ve done a good job of executing my plan. But there’s always more to build on. There’s steps I still want to take in the second half. My goal everyday is to find a way to get better. I’m going to keep rolling with that and keep trying to do the best that I can,” said Carlson.
