Cards Caravan Swings Through Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–The St. Louis Cardinals avoided arbitration Friday signing Matt Adams, Brandon Moss, Trevor Rosenthal and Seth Maness to one year contracts.

Friday members of the St. Louis Cardinals scattered throughout the Show-Me State in their annual caravan.

Randal Grichuk and Sam Tuivailala headlined the group that met with Cardinals fans at Hammons Field.

Proceeds from the program went to the Children’s Miracle Network.

The players also visited children at Mercy and Cox hospitals.

The Cubs grabbed a couple of former Cardinals in the offseason and was the talk of the caravan.

“They might put a little chip on our shoulder.  But like Mike (Matheny)  said we’re not going to say sorry for having Adam Wainwright or Yadier Molina.  They have a good ballclub over there.  Definitely eliminating us in the playoffs last year upped their power,” said Cards outfielder Randal Grichuk.

“I think our rivalry will stay the same.  It’s not really going to change.  We did lose some players to them.  Good guys.  We had some good days with them.  But it’s all about business at the end of the day,” said Cards pitcher Sam Tuivailala.
