NORMAL, Ill–For the first time in the Valley post season baseball history, two play in games have been added to the tournament.

And Missouri State played Valparaiso in the first of those do or die games.

The Bears swept the Crusaders last week in the regular season series finale.

And defense to start things off, Joey Polak dives into foul territory at third, then over to first for the out.

Missouri State strikes in the second, Brooks Zimmerman doubles to left, Ben Whetstone scores all the way from first on the double, it’s 1-nothing Bears.

Missouri State’s Logan Wiley was throwing b-b’s, he gets a strikeout here, one of his eight strikeouts on the day.

The Bears give him insurance in the fifth, Mason Hull singles to left, bad throw home, and Dakota Kotowski scores on the error and it’s 3-nothing.

And Missouri State wins 7-1 and advances to play Dallas Baptist Wednesday afternoon.
