Bears Softball Sweeps Salukis

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–Heading into Wednesday’s double header against Southern Illinois. The Missouri State Bears stood in second place of the Missouri Valley Conference with a 10-4 Valley record.

The Bears looking to grab some more conference wins.

They were in a jam in the top of the fifth though, games tied at 6. Bases loaded, one out. When Madison Hunsaker, gets Syndey Jones looking.

Next batter, the pressure cooker still on high. But Hunsaker, stays calm. Gets the ground out to Kaitlin Beason. She tags the runner to end the inning.

In the bottom half, good base running here, Steffany Dickerson hits it to short, play at the plate and Beason slides in safely ahead of the tag. As the Bears take a 7-6 lead.

And they’d keep that lead, winning game one 7-6.

And in the second game, the Bears would win on a walk off grand slam from Darian Frost, 7-4 was the final in game two. So Missouri State gets the double header sweep.
