Bears open Valley Tourney against Valpo

Sports

SPRINGFIELD, Mo–It hasn’t been the best of seasons for Missouri State’s baseball team.

In our Bear Nation report, Missouri State finished the injury riddled season
19-34.

And will open the Valley Tournament in the play-in game.

The Bears will take on Valparaiso in the play in game Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Illinios State.

These two teams just played this past week at Hammons, with the Bears sweeping the Crusaders.

Missouri State won the regular season finale with a walk-off Mason Hull homer.

Bears boss Keith Guttin says his team is going to the tourney with momentum.

“You know it’s a credit to them.  And player leadership.  Yea it’s been tough, yes.  But they’ve competed.  But we’ve just struggled.  But it hasn’t been effort,” said Guttin.
