DALLAS, Tx–Missouri State played their first game of the Valley tournament Wednesday against 8th seed Evansville. The Bears swept the Purple Aces in the regular season.
Missouri State’s ace was on the bump and Dylan Coleman didn’t disappoint. Strikes out Tanner Craig to end the first. Keeps it scoreless.
In the bottom of the second. The Bears bats would get going. Brooks Zimmerman blasts a two run homer. Missouri State leads 2-0.
To the sixth the Bears scoring all different ways. Drew Millas with an infield single, with the bases loaded. Ryan Skalnik scores. It’s now 7-0 Missouri State.
Same inning Bears bust it open. Ben Whetstone one hops the fence. Three runs come in. And that makes it 10-0.
Then on the hill, Coleman finishes it off. Goes all 7 innings, allowing 4 hits and had 9 strike outs off 114 pitches.
Bears win in seven 10-0. Missouri State plays Indiana State Thursday at 4:00p.m.
