Bears dominate Crusaders to clinch final regular season series

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Missouri State Baseball (18-34) registered 10 hits and 15 strikeouts as they topped Valparaiso (14-34) 11-4 on Friday.

The win clinches the series for the Bears, who are perfect 7-0 all time against the Crusaders.

It also clinches a six seed for Missouri State and a seven seed for Valparaiso in the Missouri Valley Tournament.

That means the Bears and Crusaders will meet again Tuesday for the play-in elimination round of the conference tournament.

Before that, though, Missouri State will look to continue its streak against Valpo on Saturday as they hope for the senior day sweep.

First pitch has been moved up to noon due to expected weather.
