Meanwhile a trio of Missouri State Bears were named freshmen All-Americans Thursday.

Coleman was 6-4 as a weekend starting pitcher and was fifth in the Valley in strikeouts.

Eierman belted nine homers and drove in 48 runs.

In conference play, Eierman led the league with 25 RBI.

And Steinmetz hit .317 and started all 59 games as a Bear.
