6-Time Defending State Champs Lamar Hold Off Ava In The State Quarterfinals

AVA, Mo–In the high school football playoffs the state quarterfinals finished up Saturday afternoon.
    
And in class two undefeated Ava hosted 6-time defending state champs Lamar. 

It was just the state quarterfinals but it sure felt like the state title game in this one.

First quarter Cooper Lucas from one yard out. Tigers strike first it’s 7-0.

But the Ava Bears would give Lamar all they can handle in this one. Connor Moran scores for six yards out. Bears down by one.

Later QB Duncan Gepner keeps it himself and he’s into the endzone.    
    
Ava got the ball back down six but there wasn’t enough time to pull off the upset.
    
Lamar wins their 46th straight game 28-22. They are back in the semis.
