Ozark looking to bounce back from last week’s loss. Branson looking for an upset.
First quarter, Ethan Sandoval follows his blocker. That leads to a touchdown for Ozark. Tigers strike first. It’s 7-0.
Late in the first, the Pirates come back with a solid drive of their own. QB Ryan Still keeps it himself. Good gain up the middle.
Same drive but in the second quarter, Jordan Villalobos goes right down broadway. Branson is on the board it’s now 7-3 Ozark.
Later in the second, Tigers back to pass but Michael Sylvester see’s it the whole way. Interception and the Pirates have it going the other way.
Branson has the momentum off the turnover so why not go down field. Still hits a wide open Ty Werling. And Werling takes it to the 15 yard line.
Then Kyle Hunn gets the rock and cuts it to the inside and in the endzone. As the Pirates take a 10-7 lead into the half.
After the break, Ozark sticks with the running game as Sandoval punches in his second touchdown of the game. Tigers back up 14-10.
But like I said earlier, the Pirates have their eyes on the upset. Still keeps it. He crosses the plane and Branson goes up 17-14 with less than 5 minutes to play.
Later, 4th and long for Ozark and the Pirates make the stop. Incomplete pass. And Branson upsets Ozark 17-14.
“We took that W. I am too excited to even talk right now. It was awesome we played hard,” said Kyle Hunn.
“This week we had to come out with passion, intensity and heart and we did that and I think it was the difference in the game. We’ve been talking about, our motto this year is ‘expect to win’ and that’s what we do every week. We come out, on the field expecting to win every game we play,” said Ryan Still.
