HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — Black bears are known to roam in southern Missouri, but drivers don’t expect to see them.

But the Missouri Highway Patrol caught dashcam video of a black bear crossing Highway 60 in Howell County, and being hit by a pickup truck.

The video shows the bear run across two lanes of the highway, into the side of the truck.  It quickly recovered, and ran off into a wooded area.

The Patrol says the bear was uninjured.

An injured bear can still be dangerous. If you hit a bear, troopers advise calling authorities and waiting for an officer to arrive.
