Updates to Case Involving Murdered Texas County Teen

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Court dates have been scheduled for the people accused of killing a Texas County transgender teen. 

Brianna Calderas is charged with murder in the first degree and abandonment of a course. Calderas jury trial is set for February 25, 2019 through March 1, 2019.

According to the Springfield News-Leader, Isis K. Schauer, filed a motion to vacate her sentence earlier this month. Schauer argued she had ineffective counsel from the public defender's office and her plea "was not knowledgeable or voluntary." For the full News-Leader story, click here. Schauer is convicted of second degree murder and abandonment of a corpse.

James Grigsby, who is convicted of abandonment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence, has a jury trial still set for July 26, 2018 at 8:30 a.m.

Andrew Vrba, who is charged with murder in the first degree, armed criminal action and abandonment of a corpse, is still scheduled to appear for a hearing on July 23, 2018 at 9 a.m.
